I've tried my very best to prevent myself from log in into Facebook account, and share/recommends/post status for a week. But it seems to be IMpossible in a way. Perhaps because I need to keep updating with information from groups and whatnot, so I always came across good post, or review or maybe to-ponder statuses on my Home.

Like this one, again from Dr. Hafidzi, the Executive of Palestinian Centre of Excellence [PACE]. But this time is not about Palestine as always ; but his 'reminder' to all student who are working on Final Year Projects or Ph.D theses, and I'm one of them.

Another viva to attend as an examiner. This is some of the glaring sloppy job that i have come across in thesis in my years of lecturing.

1. The references qouted in the text were not all in the list of the references listed. One or 2 references went missing maybe acceptable although not tolerable if you go by the highest standard of thesis write-up. Often times the year of publication did not match. Sometimes publications by the same author in the same year was not distinguished between the them with the alphabet suffixes (eg 2000a, 2000b etc.)

2. The abstract in English and in Bahasa did not matched. Details of results mentioned in the English abstract was no where to be found in the bahasa abstract and vice versa.

3. Be careful with your draft print out before you submit your thesis. The photo i'm attached here glaringly highlighted the unintelligible characters in the print out.

ok you may sit through your viva and pass with minor correction but such mistakes can really get on the nerves of examiners. and so be prepared to be skinned alive.. and mind you some examiners have little control of the kind of language and the choices of words. Too bad you'll be intimidated, but there's no one to blame but yourself.

So do not submit a thesis if it is a hurried job and completed in haste.

So if you are tired enough to read all of it, make sure that you've already read the one that is red-bold above.
